Nouvelle twists on sushi and creative cooked
dishes are the draws at this very popular Japanese relative newcomer
in Mamaroneck; bargain prices also mean you may wait for a
table in the sleek wood-paneled dining room that exudes a cool
Manhattan vibe.

Toyo Sushi
Review
Looking for a smart, casual, reasonably priced sushi place? Then Toyo is for
you. This good-looking and cheerful joint is always hopping, with a bustling
lunch trade, flying-out-the-door takeout, and convivial, high volume dinner
times. And this is precisely what you want in a sushi restaurant - quick, quick
turnover of fish. At Toyo, you can expect efficient, no-nonsense service, immaculately
fresh fish, and creative maki made by Japanese trained sushi chefs. Even Toyo's
freebies are great - like picked ginger imported from Japan and rich, deeply
flavorful dashi basing their addictive miso soup. Its small but thoughtfully
composed beer and sake list clinches the deal: it's our favorite mid-week sushi

The Westchester Restaurant Guide
Review
Toyo Sushi provides a gracious and charming atmosphere. The food is excellent
and our dining experience was superb. Every detail is addressed, from fresh
flowers on every table to food presented with artistry and care. The sushi is
fresh and the cooked dishes are creative as well as delicious. Even the desserts
at Toyo Sushi are wonderful.

Toyo Sushi
Discount Sushi is a scary proposition, since it usually involves less than
pristine fish - but not at Toyo Sushi. Here, the lunch-special rolls are filled
with the same luscious fish that you see on Toyo's dinner menu, it's just cut
into smaller pieces... The lunch deals are spectacular. Not only can you get
a three-roll lunch special but two rolls for $7.50 and a bento box for $7.95
which includes a California roll, rice, and your choice from among 11 lunch-sized
entrees. All lunch specials come with miso soup and salad. It's no wonder the
joint is packed...
